Shanghai Majestic Theatre

Shanghai Majestic Theatre lies on Jiangning road, West Nanjing road, which was set up in 1941. The Name of this theatre in Chinese means “beautiful jade without flaw”, and it used to be treated as “NO. 1 in Asia” by people inside and outside China.
Shanghai Majestic Theatre is a well-known historical building, grace and unique, which also combined modern and ancient style together.

Shanghai Majestic Theatre has a good reputation. And it is a synthetical theatre in which large-scale opera, ballet, music, dancing shows and stage plays can be performed. Before and after liberation, the most famous Peking opera artist Mr. Mei Lanfang and ballet dancer Galina Sergeevna Ulanova had classic performances here. In recent years, more than 60 art performance organizations from more than 20 provinces, cities, autonomous regions and armies; and more than 50 well-known international art performance groups from 17 countries around the world performed in this theatre as well. Their performances are the culture communication bridges between Chinese people and people in other countries.
